Games of Antiquity: Journey through Ancient Pastimes

Embark on a time-traveling adventure to explore the games of ancient civilizations. From strategic board games to outdoor athletic contests, students will discover the fun and excitement of ancient pastimes. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants will learn about the cultural significance and rules of various ancient games. By playing simplified versions of these games and engaging in creative projects, students will gain a deeper understanding of how games shaped society in the past. Examples of games and activities include: creating a simplified version of Senet using cardboard or paper, designing clay tokens inspired by ancient board game pieces, and participating in a relay race inspired by the Olympic Games, incorporating elements of ancient sports.

Young Scientists’ Lab

Become a scientist in the "Young Scientists' Lab," where participants will engage in hands-on experiments, explorations, and scientific investigations. From discovering the wonders of chemistry to exploring the principles of physics, this course fosters a love for scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and a curiosity about the world around us. Topics will be covered in a variety of ways, including presentations, videos, and experiments.

Japanese Language & Culture

Students will have the opportunity to experience a taste of Japan and be immersed in its language and culture. Both beginner and intermediate students will enjoy the class. Basic words and expressions will be covered. Students will learn Japanese sounds and rhythms, hands-on activities, and fun games. Projects in this class will include origami, sumi-e, and more!

Creative Impressions: Introduction to Printmaking

Discover the magic of printmaking. In this course, young artists will delve into the basics of printmaking techniques, learning the art of creating unique impressions on paper and fabric. Students will explore color and design through guided projects, understand the tools, and build confidence in their creative abilities. No skills or experience required.

Vocal Studio: All Things Voice

Join us for a dynamic workshop focused on unlocking your vocal mastery. Through engaging exercises, group exercises, and personalized coaching, participants will explore the beauty of their own unique voice, and its power when combined with others. Discover the magic of music, from interpreting lyrics to exploring melodies, getting the hang of harmonies, and tapping into emotional connection. This class offers a hands-on experience that encourages creativity and teamwork, making the “hard stuff” easy. The course concludes with an epic performance, celebrating the joy of making music together.

Digital Photography Workshop: Capture, Create, Edit

Join us on a visual journey where every click tells a story! Students will explore the art of digital photography, mastering techniques to capture compelling images across various themes and compositions. From landscapes to portraits, delve into the nuances of light, perspective, and framing. Then, unleash your artistic vision as you learn essential Adobe software like Photoshop and Lightroom to enhance and manipulate your photos, transforming them into stunning works of art.
