Games of Antiquity: Journey through Ancient Pastimes

Embark on a time-traveling adventure to explore the games of ancient civilizations. From strategic board games to outdoor athletic contests, students will discover the fun and excitement of ancient pastimes. Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, participants will learn about the cultural significance and rules of various ancient games. By playing simplified versions of these games and engaging in creative projects, students will gain a deeper understanding of how games shaped society in the past. Examples of games and activities include: creating a simplified version of Senet using cardboard or paper, designing clay tokens inspired by ancient board game pieces, and participating in a relay race inspired by the Olympic Games, incorporating elements of ancient sports.
